About Rochelle
- Has always been a gamer and loved modifying the HTML code on her web profiles like Myspace and LiveJournal—says this gave her tech skills that she didn’t even know she had.
- After high school, she enrolled at Cuesta Community College as a political science major, but after taking electives in different areas of art, she realized her passion was in a creative field.
- Admits she struggled with being a full-time student and financially supporting herself; committed herself to “chipping away at her education” and only taking classes when she could.
- Worked at a gym to help support herself—says this fulfilled her love of exercise and healthy habits.
- While going to college, she got the opportunity to work more directly in tech and utilize her art skills by designing 3-D environments and simulations for a variety of industries.
- She started working for MINDBODY, which combined all of her interests: healthy living, technology, and creativity.
- At one point, she asked for a promotion and was told she’d need a degree first—worked with her managers and school counselors to graduate with an associate degree in liberal arts.
- She is now a quality assurance manager at MINDBODY, working with developers and designers to create new software features to help gyms and fitness centers manage their clientele.
