So my background in Jordan, I have nothing to do with the business. My background is I'm a physical therapist. I study physiotherapy. &gt;&gt; Wow. &gt;&gt; But coming from my country, the makeup in our country is a little bit different than it is in the States. Well it used to be you don't study what you want, you study what your dad wants. So my dad was trying, I'm one of eight. So he wanted each one of us in the family to have a different field. So he wanted me to be in the medical field, but I hated the medical field. I've always loved math and I loved people so that's where I studied. And as I got into Taco Bell and understanding that incredible opportunity it offers you to grow. I went to school, continued to finish my business degree, to try and build my personal skills as well, from the business as I grew with Taco Bell. &gt;&gt; For people that are kind of in their safe zone, we're in our comfort zone, what do you recommend for, maybe, a high school student who's just starting to break out into the world? &gt;&gt; Look, life is fun, it's just, you gotta have to work on making it fun. But if you wanna make life miserable, you can make it miserable. But life isn't intended to be miserable, life is intended to be fun. So discover what makes life fun, and go after that.

1.) Value your think time. Spend plenty of time looking at things from different angles and thinking about what you’re doing, and put value to those activities. I schedule “think time” the same way I’d schedule a professional meeting, because I find it to be just as essential to my job. 2.) Find mentors. Align yourself with the people who you want to see yourself become.

On a typical day, we’re looking back at the results from the prior day, and either saying, “Wow, we did great,” or saying, “We could do better,” and identifying the areas where we can improve. My job is made up of three main parts: being a motivator, a teacher, and a leader—a mash-up that I like to call a “moteader.”
