About Tanya
- She knew from a young age that she wanted to go into politics-she always had ideas about how things could be done better.
- Got involved in youth movements, women's groups and peace movements; realized that effecting change was always easier with a group.
- Even though she knew what kind of job she wanted, it took her a long time to find a path that could lead to her end goals.
- She went to school to study journalism, then got a job writing policy related to domestic violence.
- Says it doesn't make sense to pick out a career until you're clear about the kind of person you want to be.
- Believes that there's no such thing as "wasting your time" on something, because every experience teaches you something new.
- Case in point: the job that she hated the most actually taught her how to best handle adversity.
- Says if you do what you feel passionately about, and you do it as best as you can, the rest will take care of itself.
