About Peter

Son of Sir Edmund Hillary, the first man to ever climb Mt. Everest.
People often criticize him for following in his father's footsteps, but in fact, his father always told him to get a stable, 9-to-5 job.
When he was a child, he grew up around climbing-his 12th birthday was spent near the base of Mt. Everest.
Yet, for a long time, he limited his career options to lawyer, doctor, laborer, or engineer.
He could never resist the pull of adventure, and he gradually went from rock climbing, to mountaineering, to climbing all Seven Summits.
Spent years doing odd jobs to fund his mountaineering, until he realized he could mold his passion into a profitable career.
Started advising on mountaineering trips, writing and speaking about his experiences, and designing outdoor equipment.
He also runs the Himalayan Trust, which was started by his father, and works to eradicate poverty in the Everest region of Nepal.
