My Day to Day

My days are very diverse. I travel a lot to reinforce our network’s purpose, vision, and values with the staff members, teachers, and alumni of our network partners. I work to build an effective global organization that can help accelerate our network partners’ impact. I spend a lot of time on zoom and email setting strategy with our global team. Finally, meet with stakeholders to build understanding about our theory of change and to secure the resources necessary to grow our impact.

Life & Career Milestones

My path in life has been direct

1.
When I was a senior in college, I proposed a thesis idea to recruit top graduates to teach in underserved schools, inspiring Teach For America.
2.
After graduation, I turned my thesis into a full-fledged proposal, overcoming countless rejections to secure funding.
3.
In 1990, Teach For America launched with 500 educators committed to making a difference in urban and rural schools.
4.
Witnessing the global impact of educational inequity led me to co-found Teach For All, now spanning over 60 countries.
5.
Leading Teach For All became my life’s mission—centering education as the key to systemic change across borders.
