Milestones

My road in life has been direct.
After earning my bachelor’s degree in social sciences education, I started my career as a high school teacher.
I worked as a teacher for five years in a Title I high school, where I taught financial literacy, AP European history, and AP art history.
In addition to my classroom teaching, I really embraced the total high school experience and also spent time coaching and mentoring.
Observing disparities in education, I aspired to address systemic challenges upstream.
After graduating from business school, I found a job with Envision Utah, where I direct implementation of our program that promotes healthy brain-building activities with babies.

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for college students

In today's economic climate, I don't think I'd recommend an undergraduate degree in education. Classroom experience can be acquired relatively quickly without a teaching degree or license. I'd recommend a broader course load or pursuing more lucrative education in other fields.
