Day In The Life Of A Community Organizer

My Day to Day

I spend a lot of time in meetings. I'll have one-on-one meetings with either parents or leaders in the education space where I focus on figuring out where we can find common values and interests, and where we can move together. I also have group meetings where we bring together community members to talk through community issues and values.

Skills & Education

Advice for getting started

Ask yourself what challenge in the world calls to you the most. What brings you the most heartbreak? Sit with that on an emotional level and really think about it. Then think about what your biggest strengths are. Once you know those two things, you can start following that direction into your calling. Your calling is where the world's greatest needs meet your biggest strengths.

Here's the path I took:

  • High School

  • Bachelor's Degree

    Political Science

    Loyola Marymount University

  • Graduate Degree
