How I responded:
A friend always told me that I needed a college degree in business prior to my wanting to start my own business. This is coming from someone who hasn't gone out on his own. Always be encouraged with whatever endeavor you're wanting to start or work at. Society will always have a comment on what is both right and wrong for you. The proof will be in the pudding once you've tasted and it's to your own liking.
