Life & Career Milestones

My path in life has been direct

  • 1.

I initially went to college to study exercise science but realized that marketing was a better fit for the type of work I wanted to be doing.

  • 2.

I earned a bachelor’s degree in business with a concentration in marketing followed by an MBA with a focus in project management.

  • 3.

I started my career in marketing as an account executive and regional coordinator.

  • 4.

I spent a few years working as a special events manager and then transitioned to marketing and project management at Geometry Global.

  • 5.

After five years with Geometry Global, I joined Ubimax as a business development manager, which is where I got started in augmented reality.

  • 6.

My husband and I saw a need in the industry, so we co-founded New Forge, which aims to help manufacturing and supply chain companies work more efficiently by implementing new technologies.

Defining Moments

How I responded to discouragement

  • THE NOISE

    Messages from Society in general:

Oh, you're a start-up. Do you have enough resources? Are you capable of filling this need?

  • How I responded:

Sometimes start-ups are branded with a negative connotation when it comes to resources and capabilities. People question if a start-up can successfully fill the need it was created for. Being a start-up, sometimes those types of concerns come up, but we actually have plenty of resources to successfully achieve our goals because the company we support is much bigger.
