Don't rush the process.

Milestones

My road in life has been direct.
Grew up less fortunate than others financially.
Didn't understand the whole college route. College applications, financial aid, scholarships, grants, room and board, time management, etc.
Struggled paying for college, worked three jobs during school to pay for school and to pay bills but also had to find time to go to class and study.
Started at a small firm and realized school didn't really prepare me for the real tax world.
Went to Deloitte after 3 years. Solidified my compliance skills and began to delve into the provision world.
Had great mentors throughout my career. Solidified my provision skills.
Keep following my journey

Day to Day

There are no typical days anymore. I'm either working on a special project such as legal entity rationalization, master data clean up, sales tax engine implementation, quarterly or year end provision, tax rate forecasting, tax planning, method change work, notices, property tax items, sales and use tax items, team building, etc. Overseeing the tax department of a public company is never dull.
