Day to Day

Everyday is different. Sometimes I spend the day researching colleges or reading up on careers that I think will specific students may enjoy researching into. My favorite days I get to spend time talking to my students and helping them exploring their options and helping them craft a plan for their futures. I do a lot of networking with other counselors, colleges and organizations. I also spend a fair amount of time preparing for and running college admissions testing.

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for everyone

Finish college, then begin networking with other counselors. They can help set you on a path of discovery! On the whole they are helpful and eager to point others in the right directions as well as willing to share their own missteps. That is their nature, and the nature of the profession!

Recommended Education
