My road in life has taken me all over.
Graduated college, started working at a resort in PA

Moved to CO and worked in property management
Started a family and stayed home for 2 years, then went back to work in business consulting
Started a business with my husband
Went back to school to earn a teaching degree
Taught elementary school for 5 years
Moved to WY and am now utilizing all of my work and people skills doing a job that I love!

Day to Day

I interact with businesses throughout Wyoming, as they apply for training grants for their employees, interns, apprentices, and potential new hires. I draft contracts, manage existing contracts, and complete final report reviews for contracts that have ended. I am on the computer and phone most of the day.

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for everyone

Finish high school. If secondary education is a good fit, consider taking some business courses, accounting courses, and technology courses. Ensure good communication skills, both speaking and writing. Work experience will always be helpful and can be gained through summer jobs, internships, or entry level job experience.
