Defining Moments

How I responded to discouragement

  • THE NOISE

    Messages from Society in general:

There is no interaction with others and all we do is deal with numbers.

  • How I responded:

Although we do work with financial statements, which entails numbers, the math is elementary. The complexity of our work is truly driven by our expertise with accounting and auditing standards. We also learn different facets of a business and industry, and in turn, we experience how various companies operate their businesses. The numbers are utilized to depict the health of a company and its consequences.

  • My parents came to the U.S. as immigrants and were forced to work at a very early age. They never had a chance to go to college. I used my parents as motivation to better myself and my family by studying hard and getting good grades.
