I've taken a lot of twists and turns
1.
No one in my family graduated from college before me. No one helped me apply or prepare for it.
2.
I had to work all through college and I was living on my own. This made my journey longer.
3.
I deterred from education a couple of times, but always came back. It's ok to gain experience from other things, actually most of the time it helps. But it's also ok not to.
Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Family:
You should go into nursing instead of teaching; you' ll make little money and kids today don't value education.
How I responded:
Know yourself. Think about and listen to your own voice; it will guide you. Believe in yourself.
