My road in life has been direct.
Struggled with acne as a young adult.
Became interested in all things skincare and dermatology related.
Toured Paul Mitchell The School and ended up enrolling in the Esthetics Program.
Started working as a receptionist at a waxing salon in Orange County, CA, to get my foot in the door.
Graduated from the Esthetics Program in 2016.
Passed my state board exam and became a licensed full-time esthetician.

Day to Day

Each day is pretty similar in nature and then will vary based on my clients. I start each day by opening up the salon and checking the schedule to see what appointments are coming up that day. Then I'll take each client back to my salon room one by one and offer whichever waxing services they'd like (eyebrows, legs, underarms, etc.) during that appointment.

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for everyone

I'd recommend going to a dedicated esthetics or cosmetology school, depending on which path you personally want to take. A dedicated school like the one I went to will be entirely focused on that career and everyone that trains you will be a licensed esthetician or cosmetologist. The first step would be to get out there and explore all the different options in this field, then tour some schools you think could be a good fit. Don't be shy! This industry is what you make of it.
