Working with Others

Day to Day

No two days are the same! Some days I head outside to the garden or woods with my class, learning about habitats, plant growth factors and requirements, wetland restoration, conservation ethics, snowshoeing / cross-country skiing, or native plants and animals. Other times, we stay inside and work on job skills. I've also had animal visitors come and teach about bodily systems and animal care!

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for everyone

Get out of your comfort zone!! If you are uncomfortable around small children, commit to being a teacher helper for a semester. If you are unsure how to lead, put yourself in a supported leadership role. The only way to grow is to get out of your comfort zone!!
