My path in life took a while to figure out
1.
MBA - Take my accounting background and realize there was so much more to consider in the business world.
2.
After several years focusing on external audit work, I found myself 'stuck' in the type of work I was on and made a jump into 'non-audit' work by taking on less desirable location to try something new
3.
After years of balancing type of work, I felt 'stuck' again so I decided to do a secondment in our London office for 2 years.
4.
After returning from UK, I took on new roles internally to focus on learning about emerging technology and how we could use them.
5.
Embracing a technology focus, I re-branded myself as someone who is forward-thinking and an innovation leader.

How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Friends:
Accounting and auditing is so boring. No one wants to talk to auditors or consultants.
How I responded:
If I did just accounting and auditing all day, it would be boring. But my day is always different and typically ranges from coaching and mentoring my team members, interacting with my clients to see how I can help them solve their problems, and playing with new technology out there. I love the balance my job offers but also the uncertainty that every day brings to keep me excited about coming into work.
