Messages from Peers:
The path to partner requires personal sacrifice. So, be prepared to not be the mother/spouse you want to be if you want to make partner.
How I responded:
False! I made partner as a single mom and didn't feel that I had to sacrifice being a great mom to get there. Yes, it required some compromise and outsourcing, but never to the point where I felt that I couldn't be there for my daughter when I needed to be or provide her the support and guidance that she needed. I've had amazing mentors and sponsors over my career that supported me through making the right decisions for my career and my family.
