My path in life has been direct
1.
I’ve always been a self-learner, I think it’s important to practice learning new things always. That’s how I’ve acquired knowledge in topics like design and foreign languages.
2.
Like others, I struggled to see the value in my vision from time to time. Despite this self doubt, I took every opportunity to collaborate with others on writing, editing, and publishing projects.
3.
Thanks to my internship at 1888, a nonprofit creative center, I gained a business understanding of the publishing industry.
4.
In this inventive space, I practiced branding, marketing, event management, networking, and creative problem-solving.
5.
After feeling confident enough in my knowledge and ability, I set up my own company and project specifications to bring PRONTO to life.
6.
Made the move to Cambridge, Massachusetts where I've continued to learn and hone my skills.
7.
My company, PRONTO, is still in the process of being developed.
Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Society in general:
Publishing is an oversaturated market. Are you bringing anything of value into this world?
How I responded:
Books are a statement of authority. Once you understand the positives of sharing your story, the noise becomes guidance. Those pressures can actually reveal all of the possibilities for why you can do something.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
Publishing can be a challenging industry and is not always a very profitable business. Because of my move, I didn't have the same support system, so I had to find a new one.
