Audit Senior Manager
I work with companies ranging from small privately owned to global public business to complete their annual audit.
The day will often be based at a client's site. We meet with the client to understand their business and their current challenges. As a team we discuss our tasks for the day, week and even month, before assigning these to each team member. Colleagues are then free to work independently to complete their tasks by the deadline. I typically spend about half the day reviewing work completed by more junior colleagues, some of the day speaking to clients and the rest of the time replying to emails.

Try to get some work experience. A 2-6 week secondment is offered by each of the Big 4 accountancy firms and by most investment banks and will give you a better idea of what the role involves. It also opens the door to these employers and increases your chance of a job offer.
