Life & Career Milestones

My path in life took a while to figure out

  • 1.

First, I didn't know how to study.

  • 2.

This caught me on Academic Probation.

  • 3.

I started to reach out for help to my EOP counselor.

  • 4.

This helped me to succeed through her path. She helped by providing other options.

Defining Moments

How I responded to discouragement

  • THE NOISE

Why don't you just pursue education, nursing is not for everyone. It's okay if you don't get into a program.

  • How I responded:

Remember that not everyone will understand your journey and the choices you make. Despite having a plan, it took me years to obtain my dream job. However, I ALWAYS had a plan and I always did the work that I knew would get me to my end goal. So remember to PLAN, EXECUTE, and the rest will fall into place. Remember to NEVER EVER compare yourself or YOUR own journey to others and remain confident in YOUR PLAN and in YOUR dream, you WILL make it. Si se puede!

Experiences and challenges that shaped me

  • I struggled financially in a part of my life. I never worked a full-time job until now, I always worked few hours because school took so much of my time. However, I knew that school would always be my priority and money would later come.
