I work with children that have trauma and behavior challenges.
I teach mindfulness in the morning to a small group of kids. The rest of the workday I pull small groups of children and teach them reading, writing, and math. Then I pick up my daughters from school, cook dinner, help with homework and put my girls to bed. I sell Avon and Tupperware on the side.
Here's the first step for everyone
Connections. Make sure you are involved or keeping in touch with clubs and / or greek life in your college years. There you will find more connections and opportunities that will get you to gaining a position at a school district.
"No way is it possible for you to teach the students properly. You're too young to grasp the knowledge of what is needed."
