My path in life took a while to figure out
1.
I was a professional ballet dancer and that was all I wanted to do. Decided to quit to achieve other goals knowing that in my country ballet is very limited.
2.
Being a world traveler trying to find my place in this world (Mexico, Canada, Europe).
3.
Studying human resources and working for multinational companies for +15 years. Quit that wonderful life to dedicate myself to education.
4.
Reinventing myself in a new profession: College counseling.
5.
My husband and sons. Without them, I wouldn´t be here. Family is your best ally.
Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
How are you going to do it if you are married, have kids, and a full-time job? You should know your priorities and choose.
How I responded:
I was so determined to achieve my goal that nothing could stop me. My husband and sons were my best allies and encouraged me to do it. I organized myself and had a daily schedule. My kids were very young when I decided to do the UCLA College Counseling Certificate. My study time was from 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM after they were in bed. I didn´t want them to miss quantity and quality time with me. It was a big sacrifice but worth it. Determination, hard work, and family support.
