Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Friends:
Joining the Air Force is a last resort for people. You could die.
How I responded:
I knew from my research and from people in the Air Force that it was a great career that would set me up for success in any part of my life. They would provide me training, experience, a degree free of charge and leadership skills.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
I grew up in a financially unstable home where my parents couldn’t provide much more than the basics. I chose not to continue down that path and worked hard at building a great career that both pays well and that I love.
