How I responded:
Ultimately discouraging advice is simply an opinion from someone else's road. Everyone's road is entirely different no matter the magnitude. While suggestions can be worthwhile at times, it's entirely up to you in how far you want to read into it. There is a world at your disposal with opportunities galore! To put it simply, never be overwhelmed with discouraging statements; if anything, be overwhelmed by the infinite amount of opportunities. Take those opportunities as they are revealed.

My entire life I've had multiple overlying hurdles, but at the roots of it all was simply growing up and going through college with less financial means than others.
