Day to Day

My typical day involves a heavy amount of auditing departments on their compliance status as well as looking into which record inventories can and should be destroyed. In these processes there is a lot of pre-meeting research into what retention schedules a group may have and what changes have come up. This is info is brought into a number of meetings throughout the day and is specific to each group that I meet with. On the tail end, we track everything for auditing needs.

Skills & Qualities Beyond School

Without question the most integral ability is adverse learning. There is so much going on from so many different directions at any given time that you need to be open-minded and ambitious about learning while connecting the dots. The role works with the entire company so you must have an understanding and general knowledge about each line of business. There's a skill to balancing empathy for others' feelings while standing ground about legal requirements.
