How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Peers:
There is not a lot of money in Education. I also heard when I was trying to go into medicine that it was hard and very expensive. I wouldn't be able to have a family.
How I responded:
I really looked at what I wanted my life to be like. I had decided very young to be a doctor but didn't really know what that all entailed. I went into a science position after graduation that I really enjoyed but it didn't pay, so I looked at education. It fit with my degree and me having children. I enjoyed teaching but wanted to try something else, so I went back for counseling. I would have never thought this is where I would end up, but it has been rewarding and I'm happy!
