Day to Day

Either onset for a freelance job or in the classroom teaching students how to make the most of their passion, a great day is doing makeup or teaching the art of makeup.

Skills & Qualities Beyond School

After having learned how to be a makeup artist, you first need the passion to follow your dreams. Which requires focus, dedication and diligence. Being a makeup artist you are always a part of a team, even if it is you and a bride. So learning to work with people is very important as well as being professional at all times and being able to get the job done and done well in spite of common obstacles like last minute changes in schedule or location.

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for high school students

Aquire the skills necessary to do makeup as a profession. Doing your own makeup is very different than doing makeup on many different skin tones & face shapes. Just as runway makeup is very different than film makeup. There are also the sanitation procedures to learn not to spread disease.

My career is not related to what I studied. I'd recommend this path instead:
