Milestones

My road in life took a while to figure out.
Left my home town.
Entered the United States Air Force at a young age and saw others with education.
I started officiating basketball and other sports, this made me a better decision maker.
I got my first self controlled promotion in the military, I had to study to get this, it proved the significance of determination and dedication.
Completed my first degree, an Associates Degree from the Community College of the Air Force, gave me my first real accomplishment.
Completed BS, MPA and got other promotions in the Air Force.
Retired from the United States Air Force, caused me to realize I needed more education.
Published my first book, it was the result of being away from my family.

Communicating / Sharing Stories

Day to Day

I am still looking for work to actually use my degree; my passion is to teach (perhaps for Walden). When I did teach for other institutions, I spent many hours a day communicating with students via IT venues.

Skills & Qualities Beyond School

Most certainly my ability to communicate verbally. In radio, it is effectively delivering a message that makes you successful.

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for everyone

Find someone who is in the field, ask them to mentor you. As soon as they try to get something from you (in terms of a fee) they are not trying to help. It is very difficult to find someone willing to do this.

Recommended Education

My career is not related to what I studied. I'd recommend this path instead:

undergrad
Bachelor
Communications Technology/Technician
