My path in life took a while to figure out

1.
Returned from Brazil in 1974 and went through a culture shock.
2.
Not sure of what I was going to do because I was not accepted into nursing school, went to a private college for home economics. Really!
3.
Worked at 7-11, worked in a hotel as a housekeeper, worked in fast food.
4.
Started taking pre-requisites for Nursing school.
5.
Started a diploma nursing school, but became involved in a relationship, got married, & had a baby.
6.
I signed up for nursing school at a community college without letting my husband know, worked 2 jobs to support family.
7.
Husband not happy with me being smarter than he was and ridiculed me.
8.
Divorced and kept moving forward and not looking back. Thanks to my Mom and Dad!

THE NOISE
Messages from Teachers:
You are an average "c" student. You will never make it as a nurse.
How I responded:
I took it as a double-edged sword, I used it to prove to these two nurses at a nursing school I wanted to attend to push me forward. The other side was that it took me many years to believe in myself and be able to accomplish what I have done thus far.
