I heard my 4th grade and 10th grade teachers suggest I become a teacher.

I became a teacher.

I decided to get a master's degree.

My master's advisor said for me to skip the master's degree and go straight for the doctorate.

THE NOISE
I never had any negative noise or discouragement in pursuance of education. My family always strongly supported educational development.

Personally, I was always supported in my educational pursuits and encourgaged to further my education.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
I had $300 to my name when I entered graduate school. I got financial aid and two part time jobs, all the while carrying a full-time class load. It was all worth it.
