Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Society in general:
'You are not going to be anything.' This was because the expectations were very low in the community in which I grew up. Education was not advocated.
How I responded:
Stay encouraged and seek mentors who can help align you with your goals. Set realistic milestones and establish a plan to get you to your end results.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
Not having a blueprint for higher education, made it a little difficult for me to focus on a clear educational path. I worked with mentors throughout my career to encourage me and inspire me to earn education aligned to my passion.
