Helping People

Day to Day

I welcome students to the Barrett West Suite, assist them with requests and technical issues, and reach out to those who seem distressed. I also maintain the suite, purchase needed items, and manage the budget as well as staff calendars. Staff and Faculty are encouraged to participate in conversation with students and to model desired behavior.

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for college students

I desired to work in Higher Education, so getting a job on campus was the best first step I could have made. It was my student worker position in Career Services that taught me how to get involved, connect with influential colleagues and professors who became mentors, and gave me experience working with the student population. Getting involved at Barrett Honors College and taking on a leadership position was key to being considered for this job.
