Milestones

My road in life took a while to figure out.
I had a passion for learning about the body and thought I was going to go into medicine.
I took an upper division biology course and discovered it was a hobby not a career for me.
While working at the university as a student worker, I got offered a full time position.
I found out I enjoyed the university atmosphere and working with university administration.
I got a master's program recommended to me to pursue.
Then completed a practicum with the department I work in now! New passion for Higher Education!

Day to Day

My days are never the same. They can vary from 1:1 appointments to coordinating an event. My duties span from building online content on our website to virtual networking events. I also collaborate with the Alumni Association and academic affiliates on in-person events such as panels, networking events, professional development programming and more. If you are wanting a position with diversity and challenges this is a great position and a university is a superb environment to work in.

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for college students

The first step would be getting a student working position on-campus in a department while completing your undergraduate. This would give you a feel for what it is like to work at a university.
