Network, it's all about who you know. You never know when a past acquaintance will have something interesting for you to pursue.

I grew up with A.D.D. which proved very difficult with test taking.  When I got to College I realized I would be judged almost solely on tests. I shared this with my teachers and we were able to come up with side projects to supplement and excelled.
