My path in life took a while to figure out

    Lived in Saginaw, MI and knew I didn't want to stay there.

  • 2.

    Applied to the Consortium for Graduate Study in Management to fund my MBA degree.

  • 3.

    Worked at a real estate consulting firm.

  • 4.

    Moved to Washington, DC to work at a govt agency that focuses on housing & community development.

  • 5.

    Upon leaving the govt, I was hired to work at Capital One based on my previous housing experience.

  • 6.

    Reading everything I can get my hands on as well.

    Messages from Family:

    You're going to leave Toledo? Why? You're going to leave that good job at General Motors to move to Texas? You dont know anyone down there, do you?

  • How I responded:

    Read up on various aspects of the world in order to broaden your horizons. Try to be confident in your ability to work hard. Get familiar with the term "Calculated Risk." Seeking out funding opportunities that can finance undergraduate and graduate education (via scholarships, grants, fellowships, etc).
