Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Parents:
You'll never make money doing that and, besides, what if you're not good enough?
How I responded:
It can be important to listen to others' feedback but it's also important to block out the negativity.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
My parents didn't teach me about financial health or responsibility growing up and so I had to learn this on my own as an adult. I made a decision to improve it.
I don't think this was a hardship but it was a challenge. I think I eventually learned to go towards positive situations and people and to move away from the negative.
