I help tell our company's story through media.
No two days are alike - but in any given day I might be working with a reporter on a story they are writing that features Capital One or pitching them story ideas; creating a PR campaign for one of our products or initiatives; or developing messaging documents and strategy on ways we can raise the positive public reputation of our company.
It's important to be well-versed in the media and closely follow the news so you know what is going on in the world (with the eye of how we might fit into that external context). It's also important to be very flexible and handle a lot of different projects and deadlines at the same time. PR also requires a lot of creativity and strategic thinking.
