You would observe a huge amount of online (email) based communications both with internal engineering teams and external security researchers presenting security problems to Microsoft. Much of my time is spent in cross-team, cross-group coordination and collaboration to solve problems and make fixes available to our customers as quickly as possible.

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for high school students

Develop strong oral and written communication skills. Focus on understanding technology from the ground up. It is easier to learn how to break something once you understand how it works. Spend time learning, hacking, and having fun.
