My road in life took a while to figure out.
In Elementary and Middle school, I was heavily interested in History, Geography and Science.
When I looked at available careers for all 3 of my interests, Science looked most promising.
In college decided to pursue Math and Science majors, so I would have an exciting career.
I also loved Business so decided to pursue an MBA with major in Computer Information Systems.
Then I was recruited from MBA school to the IT organization in AT&T. Start of an exciting career!

Day to Day
A typical workday includes meetings with business clients, internal team members and external application teams. We discuss what processes need to be automated and how. Understanding the needs of clients is critical to my work function. I help design the optimal solution that can be implemented in the time requested and fits the available budget. My work also includes documenting process flows, building architecture diagrams, and writing technical requirements so developers can code.
Advice for Getting Started
Here's the first step for middle school students
Take on Science and Math courses even if others tell you they are difficult. Take on tough challenges in your academic journey through school and college.
