Day to Day

A great day at work means getting to speak with my nonprofit contacts to touch base on how our programmatic funding is going for them and looking for ways to optimize future funding and communicate the impact the nonprofit has on the population it serves. I love getting to work with other business units at AT&T to develop press releases and internal communications to let our community and employees know of the good work we are doing and how they can help.

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for high school students

Getting involved with volunteer work early is a really great way to start understanding how nonprofits work - do direct service with a population you care about (animals, youth, elderly) AND then start to ask questions about how the administration / day to day operations work.
