Skills & Qualities Beyond School

Understand how to communicate to the client what it is that they need based on their initial requirements. Also, be able to research and analyze information. We have access to unlimited resources, understanding how that all fits together and what is relevant to the problem at hand is critical to success. Ultimately, you have to know how to interact with all types of people and personalities. No matter how much technology we have, people skills are key!

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for middle school students

Learn as much as you can about everything. Expose yourself to many different clubs and groups. You will surprise yourself on what you actually enjoy doing!

My career is not related to what I studied. I'd recommend this path instead:

The Noise I Shed

From Society in General:

"You should marry a rich man to take care of you." "You are just not good at math, maybe you should just stay in the air force." "You just don't have the personality to be an executive."

No matter what it is you are doing in life, set achievable goals and meet them. Once the goal is met. Set a new, higher goal. Continue to set and achieve goals, and you will do great things! Also, never forget that you will at some point not achieve a goal. That becomes a lesson on how to improve yourself. Also, have fun! Working can be frustrating and sometimes down right awful! Learn to take time out for fun! If not, there is no reason to work so hard!

Challenges I Overcame

First-Generation College Student
First-Generation College Student

My parents had no idea how to provide me guidance about choosing a college, career or how to pay for anything! I found a strong mentor in the Air Force and he is the reason I was able to be successful.
