My road in life took a while to figure out.
My career choice was interior design... I was an art / design major in both high school and college.
My mom was in a horrific car crash, I was unable to finish school; began working in a retail store
Unhappy with retail, at a career block I applied for a teller position; salary & benefits
6 mos after being hired, mgr and abm were fired; I was asked to manage branch on an interim basis
One year was promoted to abm position, manager avp, sr branch coordinator until the bank closed.
Luckily was rehired, given the opportunity to work closely with vp of operations-25 miles from home
Yet another bank took over- 2 miles from home. Currently hold the positon of a Sr. bank manager
Enjoy my role as bank mgr, working with the public, mentoring my team and the challenge of the role.

I currently work in an extremely high-volume branch, which consists of consumer and small business customers. My day consists of managing my staff to a consistent level of high performance, assisting customers with banking needs, resolving customer issues, staffing needs, monitoring daily reporting, ensuring my team remains motivated and focused, mentoring my team; through observations and coaching drills. Ensuring sales increase and goals are acheived; mtd, qtd, ytd.

I believe it's important to explore your options and, most importantly, your interests. Take as many courses as you can in a variety of fields. Determine what interests you, what classes you do well in and what field you see yourself in for what will be the better portion of your adult life...
