Milestones

My road in life took a while to figure out.
Realizing I could go to a Community College in my community.
Realizing my Community College offered a Bachelors program through a UMass school.
Made the leap to go straight to campus for my Bachelors so I could achieve my degree sooner.
Graduated with Bachelors and began to research Masters degrees that would fit my work and home life.
Applied to graduate program and have never been more excited than being accepted!!

Helping People

Day to Day

They might see me meet with someone who has chronic health issues and is experiencing depression. My job is to listen and to see how I may be able to give them tools to lessen their depression. I also help people access resources to have their basic needs met. A great day is when there is a problematic situation and there is an opportunity to come up with a workable solution.

Skills & Qualities Beyond School

For my job you need to be a good listener but you also need to know how to express yourself and communicate effectively. The skill of empathy is important and that is a life lesson rather than what school can teach you.
