I've taken a lot of twists and turns
1.
In high school, I met a girl, went to college, spent time dating girl and dropped out of college.
2.
Got married, dropped out of college and went into a retail management training program and hated it.
3.
Went back to college, worked at the 'Lair, graduated, had a variety of student affairs jobs.
4.
Got my masters, went back to my alma mater, landed my dream job at Tidewater Community College opening a new student center.
5.
Saw the show "Roadtrip Nation" and thought I deal with students with these same questions daily.
Defining Moments
How I responded to discouragement
THE NOISE
Messages from Family:
You're married now, you need to get a job; a job in management or accounting, finance or banking.
How I responded:
I took a leap of faith based on a mentor's faith in me. He knew I had the passion, personality and the desire that it would take to be successful. The skills I could learn, the self-confidence I could learn, but there are certain God given gifts that he saw in me that I didn't see.
Experiences and challenges that shaped me
Overcoming self doubt, lack of confidence and fear of the unknown.
