My road in life has taken me all over.
I wanted to be a Nurse, and went to school to do so.
While I was going to school I needed to eat, so I started working on cars, and at a coffee shop.
I decided to try a job in collections.
I wanted to be the best collector in the company.
I wanted to help my peers become better in their role.
Moved into other departments to learn their role in the company.
Trained new hires in multiple countries (India, England, and here in the US).
Started to work with Executive Resolutions, handling all of the CEO's mail.

Day to Day

Reviewing customer correspondence, then determining who is best suited to find a remedy. I also serve as the intermediary between regulatory bodies (CFPB, OCC, BBB...) and Capital One. Another main part of my daily duties is offering support to a department of about 100 associates, by answering their questions and researching solutions.

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for college students

Focus on Communications and Business courses, but most importantly, have a great attitude and willingness to help other people by doing the right thing. Flexibility is also an underestimated skill. It's valuable in so many ways. From working in a team to find a solution, to being open-minded about a work assignment.
