Defining Moments

How I responded to discouragement

  • THE NOISE

    Messages from Parents:

You should work for somebody else. Only people who cheat and are connected with some clique are successful on their own.

  • How I responded:

I told myself if people would see our work, they would recognize it was good. We started to build connections and doing things pro bono to show our work. After a while we started to receive offers to be part of counseling projects and getting paid.
