Engaging youth in self-discovery. I play basketball with youth, talk with youth about issues they are having, engaging them in something new. In turn, I reflect on the things they teach me.

I think the first step is to be grateful for the people in your immediate life that have inspired, helped, and pushed you. When you think you are alone, there is a time where these people will remind you of what you are accomplishing.

"I have always had issues with judging myself harshly, not feeling loved, and dealing with my sexuality as a black lesbian woman. Society has told me that I don't make sense, it is not natural and it is not acceptable to be who I am."
