Milestones

My road in life took a while to figure out.
First I moved to San Francisco.
Then I worked for non-profit causes I believed in, usually not for money.
Then I started doing layout and design work for those non-profits because I was good at it.
Then I got an entry level position at a very small publishing company where a friend worked.
Then I took advantage of any opportunity there was to learn more and do more.
Then I stayed as that company grew from a small publisher of 18 people...
...Into a mid-size publisher with nearly 160 employees that is admired the world over.

Day to Day

A great day at work starts with greeting colleagues, seeing what emails have come in from our vendors in China, and checking the day's schedule. I start with anything deadline oriented, and then work through standing projects and / or problems.
