Day to Day

A typical day may start off with an individual session at my office and end with teaching a class at a local community center.

Skills & Qualities Beyond School

Practical experience, doing the work, and dedication are needed in my career field. There were many people who taught me along the way - every experience added skills to my toolbox. You can't learn everything you need to do this work in school.

Advice for Getting Started

Here's the first step for middle school students

Begin a meditation practice... practice, practice....

My career is not related to what I studied. I'd recommend this path instead:

The Noise I Shed

From Parents:

"You shouldn't try to be an artist because you won't make enough money and it's very difficult, you should learn a trade or go to college for something specific."

Everything I did was done with my artistry intact. I can't be something I'm not. I get paid for being an artist and I always have - always will. I have never been totally unemployed. I have, for the most part, had too much work!

Challenges I Overcame

Military spouse / Stress
Military spouse / Stress

Employers looking for long term stable employees don't hire military spouses - we move a lot - we often get the jobs no one wants or that are short term jobs. I created my own job by being a freelance artist - the internet helped me do this!
