Defining Moments

How I responded to discouragement

  • THE NOISE

    Messages from Myself:

My mom kept saying you need a four year degree. You're not going to make anything that can support you. Why do you want to work in people's mouths?

  • How I responded:

I went with my gut and told myself I'm doing this for me. I need a job I'm going to be happy with not what other people want me to do. Of course having a four year degree is a good idea but that route wasn't for me. I followed my passion for helping people.

  • Don't let that interfere, you are capable of anything you set your mind to. I was told I had a learning disability but I came out of college becoming an honor student. You can do anything you set your mind to.
